Planning Commission

  The Planning Commission consists of 5 members appointed by the Township Supervisor subject to the approval of the Township Board for a 3 year term. All members except one must be qualified elector of the township. The Planning Commission has regular meetings 4 times each year, and special meetings as needed. All meetings are posted and open to the public as required by law.

The duties of the Planning Commission generally include: Reviewing and making recommendations the Township Board regarding property owner's land, use plans to meet the standards and regulations contained in the Township's Zoning Ordinance. The Planning Commission also periodically reviews and if necessary updates the Township's Master Plan and makes a recommendation to the Township Board regarding proposed amendments to the Townships Zoning Ordinance.

Planning Commission or Zoning Administrator's denials may be appealed with the Zoning Board of Appeals. Applications and forms for an Appeal may be obtained from the Township Clerk.
