 The Fire Advisory Board was established by the Tekonsha Township Board consisting of two representatives from Tekonsha Township, the Village of Tekonsha, and contracting townships, and one citizen-at-large that alternated from each entity. All members are appointed by their respective governing body.

The purpose of the Fire Advisory Board is to provide each governmental entity served by the Tekonsha Fire Department, a voice for input and an opportunity to air any grievances and resolve differences in a less formal manner than before the Township Board.

The Fire Chief provides information regarding the fire departments activities for the month, financial status, staffing, and equipment needs. The fire advisory board makes recommendations, based on research, to the Tekonsha Township Board

The Fire Advisory Board meets at 7:00 p.m. the 4th Thursday of the odd months at the Tekonsha Township Hall, 166 Spires Parkway. All meetings are open to the public and dates and times are posted according to the law.
